The highly anticipated Montego Bay leg of the motivating 'We Inspire Women' movement was launched at the beautiful Jewel Grande Resort in Montego Bay last Sunday.

The event, brainchild of Cortia Bingham, a native of Montego Bay, was first held in 2016. However, the first staging for the year will be held in the 'Friendly City,' on January 28 at the Holiday Inn Resort.

Bingham explained that the idea was hatched after deciding to transcend her past of abuse and to start a motivating movement through her brand 'We Inspire Women'.

“We are looking to spread the power of permanent positive change, as permanent change is the ethos of the organisation. 'We Inspire Women' has been impacting the lives of many Jamaican women since its inception. As a result, women in attendance have broken abusive relationships, elevated their education, launched out as entrepreneurs and, most importantly, grown to see their full potential and self-worth,” said Bingham.

“We decided to traverse the island, hosting successful events in Kingston and Mandeville, and now We Inspire Women will be in Montego Bay.”

The western Jamaica staging will be held under the theme 'You are a Revolution, not a Resolution'.

The Jamaica Observer West was at the launch and brings you the highlights.
